Could your website load faster?
The answer is – if you just exported your site from RapidWeaver – yes!
The solution is 'Smaller' app from Chen Lou.
What happens, I hear you ask — compare these two screenshots:
Standard RapidWeaver Output
All Comments and empty lines have been removed, leaving nothing for the browser to filter when rendering your site. The same thing happens with each and every 'web' file. You can drop a whole RW-export folder on to Smaller's main window (or the Dock Icon) and in next to no time, you have a compacted website.
If you have stripped out the colour-profiles from your .jpgs, compressed them to the (acceptable) limit and saved them at the correct size too, visitors to your site will thank you!
If you don't know Photoshop so well, I highly recommend using Image Optim. You can drop your export folder onto Image Optim too.
